About Mary Ferris

"Why wouldn't I paint horses! They are such dramatic and beautiful creatures. How could anyone resist the temptation to try and suspend their majesty on canvas?"

Mary has lived for the majority of her life in the heart of the equestrian capital of Ireland: County Kildare.

The predominant subject matter of her oil based and watercolors are equestrian scenes varying from farmyard through racing to hunting scenes.

Mary also directs a significant proportion of her talent to sculpture.

"I find that with bronze I can create a further dimension of movement and it is extremely fulfilling medium to work through."

Mary's work is currently being exhibited on Merrion Square, Dublin 2, Leopardstown Racecourse enclosure and in Tuckmill Crafts in Naas, Co. Kildare.
